About Monogram Project

A few years ago, graphic designer and typography lover Hope Meng impulsively began a highly ambitious and slightly insane personal project to draw every 2-letter combination in the alphabet. On November 9, 2014, the AA monogram was posted on the Monogram Project Instagram account and the project will conclude in 13 (!!!) years if she posts one monogram per week (big IF).

"Take your broken heart, make it into art." —MERYL STREEP

It is fitting that the project began on November 9, because it was the same day two years later (directly following the 2016 election) that Hope decided to turn Monogram Project into her own form of personal protest against a president who she strongly disagrees with. The Monogram Project shop officially launched on January 20, 2017 (Inauguration Day). ALL proceeds from the sale of Monogram Project prints will go towards organizations who fight to ensure our civil liberties and support the equality of women and people of different races, genders, and beliefs. A worthy organization will be chosen each quarter and announced on the blog (coming soon!).
